Instructor
Theresa O’Neil
Your Primary Guide for this training is Theresa ONeil. We will be joined by some wonderful guest teachers, including some very special virtual sessions with global yoga teacher and founder of Prana Vinyasa, Shiva Rea!
Living Yoga
A Yoga instructor since 2010, Theresa ONeil practices and shares Yoga as movement meditation, nurturing and challenging students of all ages and abilities: body, mind and spirit. “My personal practice varies with the seasons and my own needs, from sweet and gentle to fiery and physically challenging.”
With more than 1,000 hours of training, she is a dedicated student of Shiva Rea and earned her second 300-hour certification in Prana Vinyasa with Shiva. She has studied online with Shiva three times a week for seven years and has studied with her in person in California, India (twice), Greece (three times), and Turkey. Theresa continues to study with Shiva and her teachers.
Theresa is a devotional storyteller, using ancient tales of the Divine to inspire and connect. “I love chanting and am also a Sanskrit nerd.” She’s learned to chant chapters 12 and 15 of the Bhagavad Gita with her Sanskrit teacher, Dr Rama Shankar, and is excited to continue her Sanskrit studies.
A lifelong learner, Theresa has taken workshops with many global teachers including Sarah Powers (Insight Yin Yoga), Hala Khouri (Trauma Informed Yoga), Seane Corn (Cuba Immersion), Sharon Salzberg (Meditation), Margot Bachman (Ayurveda), and Sianna Sherman (RITUAL). She has also completed a Sound Healing training with Adrienne White and Luke Andreson of The Sound Medicine Collective in Benton Harbor, Michigan; studied harmonium and chanting with Girish and is learning how to play the RAV drum. She is also a certified Reiki Practitioner.
Theresa earned her 200 and initial 300 hour certifications from Don Wenig right here at Dancing Feet Yoga in New Buffalo, Michigan! She assisted Don with yoga teacher trainings before co-leading multiple 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings at One in Valparaiso, Indiana. Theresa is registered with Yoga Alliance as an e-RYT500.
Living in Nature, Living in Flow
“I am connected to the land on which I live, the Indiana Dunes, traditional land of the Potawatomi. I live in rhythm with the seasons, the sun, the moon, and my own natural ebbs and flows. By living in rhythm, I am flowing with natural currents, rather than fighting against them. I honor auspicious days of the year with rituals and events for myself and for the community.
“I also love rhythm and flow in music and in movement practices. Finding just the right track to create a soundscape for breathing and moving together makes me happy. I drum, sing, and share Mantra and songs to help connect with the Spirit that breathes us all.
“I love to hike, travel, cook and bake, especially sourdough bread. And my happy place is the beach.
“I am beyond excited to share this Embodying Flow for All: Prana Vinyasa Teacher Immersion and Training with you!”
